Be Our Guest (December 2018) - Breakfast Reservation Let Me Ride 7DMT and PPF Before Park Opening!
I visited Be Our Guest (BOG) for breakfast on a Saturday morning in early December 2018. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily from 8:00 am until at least 8:00 pm (and sometimes later, depending on extended park hours). You can reserve a table using the Disney app or website.
Be Our Guest is located in the Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland section, way at the back of the park. The restaurant occupies a space inside a giant faux rock wall that represents Beast’s castle. Inside, guests dine in one of three rooms (chosen by the guests at breakfast and lunch when the meals are quick service): the Ballroom, the Rose Gallery, and the West Wing. The West Wing, the smallest room, was the most popular room on the day that I dined, but even if it hadn’t been full, it was much too dark for my taste. The Rose Gallery wasn’t yet opened when I arrived, which encouraged guests to occupy the other two rooms first. I found a table in the ballroom, retrieved my own silverware and beverage, and set my buzzer down to await my food delivery (a GPS tracker inside the buzzer allows the food deliverers to find you). Be Our Guest can seat over 500 people at a time! Because I had a pre-park opening breakfast time, I was admitted to Main Street in the Magic Kingdom along with the rope-drop masses about an hour before the official park opening time. General admission guests are held in the area in front of the castle; however, if you have a reservation at BOG, you are allowed to walk on the pathway to the left of the castle to pass from the forecourt through the edge of Liberty Square and then around the castle into Fantasyland.
Because BOG has been the most popular restaurant in Walt Disney World since it opened in 2012, be sure to reserve your spot as early as possible (180 days in advance) to avoid disappointment. Breakfast and lunch at BOG are ordered a la carte, but dinner is part of a fixed-price menu. For counter-service breakfast and lunch meals, guests order via automatic touch-screen terminals, or they can even pre-order online. (FYI, I only made my reservation about 60 days in advance, and I did pre-order my meal and drink.) Dining at BOG for breakfast involves checking in at the outdoor podium/hut, receiving two buzzers since I had pre-ordered, then making my way down the drawbridge to enter the “castle”. I then waited in line to turn over one of the buzzers and be permitted entry.
I pre-ordered the open-faced Croque monsieur, which was plated with fresh fruit (as are most of the breakfast entrees). Each table also receives a plate of pastries, which I was too full to eat but took away with me since I had brought along some plastic Ziploc bags. Food arrives on wheeled glass-covered carts, which has wow factor. Beer and wine is available at Be Our Guest, which marks it as the first Magic Kingdom restaurant to permit it.
I enjoyed my early breakfast at Be Our Guest. Because I was finished by 8:45 am, I was able to ride the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (twice) and Peter Pan’s Flight before any regular park guests arrived that day, allowing me to swap my later-in-the-day fast passes for alternate rides.
