Colorado Springs: TownPlace Suites (May 2007)

I stayed at the TownPlace Suites Colorado Springs for 5 nights during a business trip in May 2007. The hotel is perfectly fine--a typical chain hotel room. I had a queen studio suite, which had a full kitchen (although apartment-size appliances), living area (couch, chairs, table), bath. Very much like a Residence Inn, but without the morning breakfast buffet and the evening cocktail hour. (I would probably choose the RI over this Marriott brand, but I don't think the prices are equitable.) Maid service was based on the number of days that you stayed, so certain stays might only warrant a change of towels and emptying of the trash, but the price reflects that. No toiletries in the room other than shampoo and soap. There is a limited amount of other supplies at the front desk (for free), but you need to ask. There is a small pool as well as a small exercise room (larger facility is across the street); there is no on-site restaurant or food service, but the hotel has a little market with drinks, frozen/microwaveable foods and snacks for purchase (prices were reasonable). The rooms are arranged in two buildings, each with three stories. There is a 7-11 within walking distance, as well as a Ruby Tuesday, Chipotle, and Schotzky's Deli. A large grocery store (Albertson's) and drug store (Long's) are a few blocks away. This is a fine hotel choice for a business or transit stay, but not somewhere you would vacation.
