My spouse and I
spent an enjoyable weekend in Philadelphia in late June 2017. We generally
choose New York City over Philadelphia because of repeated traffic issues when
we drive to Philly; however, it has some restaurants that we want to try. This
time, we built our weekend around a lucky dinner reservation at Zahav, an
Israeli restaurant that has proven to be a hot ticket. We also dined at
Barbuzzo, CHeU Noodle Bar, and Pizzeria Vetri, and we enjoyed drinks at McGillin’s
Old Ale House and Varga Bar. We toured the Barnes Foundation art museum, which
we had visited years previously at its Lower Merion location. We stayed at the
Holiday Inn Express Midtown, where we stayed once previously a few years ago,
and it proved to be a great location once again - right in the middle of lots
of activity, with a deli (that serves beer) across the street to boot! It was a
great weekend, except for that darn traffic!
