My spouse and I visited Buza Bar II (also called Bard Mala
Buza and/or Caffee Bar Bard) on a Friday afternoon in late August 2016. “Buza” (pronounced “BOO-zha”) means “hole in the wall”, and that is
how you access this unforgettable place! Dubrovnik is home to two Buza Bars;
see our other review for the original Buza Bar.)
Buza Bar II
is nestled between the steep rocks on the Old Town cliffside facing the Adriatic Sea. To locate the bar, walk on Ulica Ispod Mira and look for number 14. Ahead you might see a sign for Konoba
Ekvinocijo, and when you see a doorway that shows some graffiti writing on the
wall that says “no topless, no nudists”, walk through, emerge on the side of
the seacliff outside the City Walls that surround Old Town, and descend down
the concrete steps.
Buza Bar II
offers cold drinks with a phenomenal view. Unlike the original Buza Bar nearby,
Buza II has no handrails as you walk between landings. Umbrella-topped
tables cover the small concrete landings that dot the rocks down to the water,
where you can use a ladder (or jump into the sea) to take a dip. Even if you do
not swim, local teenage tourists will keep you entertained. Buza Bar II offers
no bathroom facilities.
Although Buza Bar II is tricky to find, your drinks with a
spectacular view will make it all worthwhile!
