My spouse and I visited the
Great Adirondack Brewing Company (previously called the Great Adirondack Steak
and Seafood Company) for drinks on a Thursday afternoon in early July 2019. The
bar/restaurant is open daily for lunch, dinner, and drinks (off-season hours
may be abbreviated).
Since 1987, the Great
Adirondack Brewing Company has occupied a prime position on Main Street in the village.
Originally the brewery was located in Plattsburgh, but now its operations occur
on-site. Patrons can sit indoors at the L-shaped marble-topped bar or at stand-alone
tables (in front of the room’s large windows), or outdoors on the courtyard
patio at a second bar, tables, or picnic-style tables. Some of the outdoor
tables are topped with umbrellas, while others are covered by a canvas awning
roof which also has roll-down plastic sides. The flower planters bordering the
sidewalk and surrounding the patio were stunningly gorgeous when we visited!
The bar/restaurant offers
American cuisine, including steaks and seafood. A full liquor license (with
beer, wine, and cocktails) is offered. Regrettably, we visited in
mid-afternoon, after lunch service stopped and before dinner service started,
so we were unable to order any food (although we were hoping to order an
appetizer to share). In addition, no table service was available during that
time, so we served ourselves at the outdoor bar.
We enjoyed our time outdoors
on the patio at the Great Adirondack Brewing Company, and we would like to
return sometime to try the food.
