Living Our Bucket List Life: Atlantic City (August 2019)

My spouse and I visited Atlantic City for the weekend in late August 2019. We had heard earlier that week that the weather that weekend was supposed to be great, so we planned a spontaneous trip to the beach. Apparently everyone else in the immediate vicinity had heard the same weather forecast, because finding a hotel room wasn’t so easy. Most of our top choices (Hard Rock, Caesars, Ocean/Revel, Borgata, Water Club, and Resorts) were sold out, so we decided to try the Tropicana in their Chelsea Luxe Annex (which we loved and would choose again). We strolled the Boardwalk, stopping for snacks and drinks as we went along at The Biergarten, Harry’s Oyster Bar (at Bally’s), Bungalow Beach, and Bally’s Beach Bar. At night, we had a great Japanese dinner at Okatshe at the Tropicana (through its hidden candy store door) followed by a comedy club show. The next day, we strolled a bit more on the Boardwalk, stopping at the Pier at Caesars for brunch at Steven Starr’s The Continental. Although the weather on Sunday was just okay, the weather on Saturday was stunning, and we made the right decision to make a quick weekend trip to AC. Hopefully we can do it again next summer!
