Pompano Beach: Beach House (December 2018)

Beach House - Glitzy New Dining Option in Pompano
I dined with four family members at the Beach House for dinner on a Friday night in late December 2018. The Beach House is open daily for lunch and dinner from 11:00 am (10:00 on Sundays) to 10:00 pm (12:00 midnight on weekends). Guests can book a table on the main floor (but not the top/lounge floor) using the restaurants website (via the online Seven Rooms reservation system). Brimstone Restaurant Group (BRG) operates the Beach House, as well as two locations of Brimstone Woodfire Grill (in Doral and Pembroke Pines). (They formerly owned Grille 401 in Fort Lauderdale and Pinon Grill in Boca Raton.) Valet parking is available, as is some nearby metered beach parking.
The Beach House opened in late March 2018 directly on Pompano Beach, affording maximum views of the sand, surf, and pier (which is currently being rebuilt). The two-story, purpose-built structure (which reportedly cost $6.5 million to build) offers dining space for 400 patrons on two floors. The ground-level indoor dining space offers seats at tables, booths, and a bar amid bamboo floors, teak ceilings, wicker lighting, and Balinese furniture. The garage windows on two sides of the room can be rolled up to allow the salt air to flow in. In addition, the bar at the rear of the space is indoor-outdoor, allowing additional seating outside on the covered deck; if you prefer, a few outdoor tables are also available. The second floor (reachable by stairs or an elevator) offers a covered rooftop deck with an even more open-air atmosphere. Coffee tables, couches, lounge seating, and a second bar provide seating, along with a few choice booths on the terraced floor overlooking the sand. Two of these booths can be reserved with a $300 deposit, but the rest of the seating is first come-first served.
The Beach House offers upscale American cuisine. Although we visited at dinnertime, we chose some of the lighter menu fare: the tuna-poke stack, the sushi black lobster roll (no longer on the menu), and the yummy chicken cordon bleu sandwiches (served with house-made potato chips). The chicken sandwiches were so delicious that it would be difficult not to order them the next time that we visit. We appreciated that the menu offerings don’t seem to change between lunch and dinner, as so many other finer-dining restaurants do, forcing us to choose a larger plate when we wanted something lighter. In the upper-floor lounge area, only appetizers and drinks are available (but not the full menu).
We enjoyed our dinner at the Beach House; the food was good, and the atmosphere was fantastic. We’ll return for sure!
