My spouse and I ate lunch at YuLaLa Cafe in February 2013. YuLaLa Cafe is a cute restaurant, sort of a mix of Japanese and Lao in both atmosphere and cuisine. You must remove your shoes before entering the restaurant, and some of the tables are tatami-style floor seating. The food quality is excellent, as is its presentation and fine service. Yulala is centrally located about a block away from the Cultural Hall building on Rue Heng Boun. The restaurant is run by a Japanese couple. There is no sushi or sashimi served here. What makes it Japanese are the owners who cook, prepare, and serve the food with care. There are only seven tables at this tiny restaurant, half of which are cushions on the floor. All their dishes are special, though of honorable mention are their croquettes and chocolate desserts.
