St Petersburg: Lobby Bar at the Grand Hotel Europe (September 2010)

My spouse and I enjoyed a light dinner and drinks at the Lobby Bar at the Grand Hotel Europe in early September 2010. For two rounds of drinks, a club sandwich, and an eggroll-type appetizer, the cost was about $100, proving that even a quick and not elaborate meal in the hotel was twice as expensive as a meal just down the block or around the corner.

The destination of choice for the most famous faces of St Petersburg, Russia, nightlife at the Lobby Bar brims with historic glamour. Showcasing beautifully restored historic features, the elegant Lobby Bar is the perfect place to meet for pre-dinner drinks or warming cocktail on a wintery night. Live music sets the scene each evening. The decadent menu features Mediterranean and Asian specialities, light dishes and classical Russian fare.
