My spouse and I dined at Mister Lee's Noodles on a Friday
evening in early February 2017. This restaurant is located in the Easton Public
Market (EPM). The market is open on Wednesdays through Sundays from 9:00 am
until 7:00 pm (only until 5:00 pm on Sundays). Some vendors stay open as late
as 9:00 pm on weekends. Metered parking is available on the surrounding
streets, including in the off-street parking area behind the market.
Mister Lee’s is located at the Northampton Street
entrance of the market and enjoys a corner location with windows on one side
overlooking the street and another side open to the market itself. The focal
point of the space is an L-shaped counter, where you can sit to dine while you
watch the chefs work. An additional dining counter is positioned against the
front window, or you can choose a communal table. You stand in line to place
and pay for your order (credit cards are accepted), but staff delivers your
food to you. Mister Lees does not serve alcoholic beverages, but you can buy
them elsewhere in the market to consume in their space.
We tried two dishes from Mister Lee’s: one cold and one
hot. Both were delicious and unique, with their nontraditional take on
traditional Japanese dishes. It was hard to choose a favorite between the two.
Our cold dish of Korean BBQ beef noodles included noodles, beef, kimchee,
English cucumbers, chilies, and hardboiled egg. Our hot dish of sticky ramen
included beef dashi, sticky BBQ pork belly, collard greens, red eye beans,
pickled red beets, 60-minute egg, and hush puppies.
