My spouse and I
dined at Parc Bistro for brunch on a Sunday afternoon in mid-September 2015.
Parc Bistro is open for lunch (or brunch) and dinner daily. They accept
reservations via telephone. Although the restaurant does not have a dedicated
parking lot, a public parking lot is located nearby.
Parc Bistro opened in 1997 in a restored 19th
century roadside inn. A wood-burning fireplace, antique mirrors, and eclectic
artwork line the walls. Some dining space exists on the ground level in a room
that also features some counter seating where you can watch the (pizza) chef
work. Additional seating is available on the second floor; however, we did not
see an elevator, which may be an issue for someone who is mobility impaired. On
the first floor, windows draw the eye to the brick outdoor patio out back,
where a striped awning covers the outdoor bar, and umbrella-topped tables
provide al fresco dining on both the patio and in a nearby grassy area. (We
dined outside, which was pleasant except for a swarm of bees that appeared as
soon as our food was delivered.) A barn in the back of the property is
available for special events.
The restaurant offers an eclectic menu of French, country,
and Italian cuisine. For brunch, we
ordered the steak and eggs and the Brussel sprout and bacon pizza. The steak and
egg brunch entrée was most impressive (and we would definitely order it again
on our next visit): it contained sliced beef tenderloin cooked to the diners
specification, cheesy eggs (served in a tiny cast-iron skillet), grits, and
cubed skin-on potatoes, along with a lovely selection of fresh fruit. The tasty
pizza was too large for one person to finish in one seating, so we took some
home. We shared a delicious key lime pie for dessert.
Although we traditionally avoid restaurants that offer only
a brunch (but not lunch) menu, we were very pleased with the food quality
(presentation, ingredients, and especially portion size) at Parc Bistro. We
will surely return, even though there are many other options in Skippack to
try.
