My
spouse and I visited Randall’s on the Orchard on a Saturday evening in late
November 2019. Randall’s is open on Tuesdays through Saturdays for dinner only
(closed on Sundays and Mondays). You can reserve a spot using the online RESY
reservation system.
Randall’s
on the Orchard opened in October 2011 in the space formerly occupied by the
Applewood Grille, Orchard Meat and Fish Company, and prior to that (years and
years ago), the House of Strawberries. The restaurant occupies a restored
building that once housed a hotel called the Queen Victoria Inn back in the
mid-1800s. Today’s guests can dine in the central bar room at one of three
sides of the large rectangular bar (the fourth side is a service area), or at a
small sort of bar rail/table that occupies one corner. A rear dining room
(called the Queen Victoria Room) features a large aquarium, the Hillside Room
offers intimate dining, and the front Orchard View Room (our favorite area) has
soaring vaulted ceilings with lots of windows that overlook the countryside,
including a nearby orchard filled with apple trees. A small private dining room
called the Boardroom is also available. A large off-street parking lot is
onsite with handicapped access available from an alternate rear entrance. (The
main/front entrance requires guests to climb a flight of exterior stairs.)
Randall’s
serves a continental menu that includes steaks and seafood. We shared two
starters: the black and bleu beef tips and one of the night’s special
appetizers, the pork belly. As our main dishes, we ordered the eggplant Milanese
and the duck; entrees come with a choice of starch and vegetable. For dessert,
we sampled the chocolate peanut butter pie. Service was excellent.
We
enjoyed our dinner at Randall’s on the Orchard.
