My spouse and I visited the Bethesda location of Rock Bottom
Brewery on a Sunday evening in early December 2019. We had reservations for
dinner across the street, but we wanted to have a drink somewhere prior to our
meal. Rock Bottom is open daily for lunch dinner, drinks, snacks, and late
night. Guests can book a table using the online RESY reservation system.
The Bethesda location of Rock Bottom is located at the
corner of Norfolk and St. Elmo Avenues in the Woodmont Triangle neighborhood. (We
stayed nearby at The Bethesdan [a Hilton property that was formerly called the
Doubletree], and it was a short walk from the hotel to the restaurant.) The
two-story corner location offers seating slightly below street level (a sort of
lift is available for handicapped guests) at a long bar, at padded booths and
stand-alone tables, or on the mezzanine (which also offers some pool tables).
Since the restaurant brews its own beers (they also sell commercial ones),
brewing equipment features prominently. Rock Bottom has 25+ locations in 13+
states.
Rock Bottom serves scratch-made pub food, including
appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, salads, and entrees. Because we were
dining elsewhere, we did not sample the food on this visit, but we enjoyed our
drinks and time spent at Rock Bottom Brewery.
