My spouse and I dined at the
Riegelsville Inn for lunch on a Saturday in September 2019. The Inn is open
daily for lunch/brunch and dinner. Diners can reserve a spot using the online Open Table reservation system.
The Riegelsville Inn is
located in a mid-1800s historic multi-story building across the street from the
Delaware River and canal and the bridge to New Jersey. Guests can dine in the
small bar room, one of the various dining rooms on the ground-level or second
floor, or seasonally al fresco on the side patio, front porch, or second-story
balcony. Indoors, wooden beams and tin ceilings accentuate stone walls to
create a rustic feel.
The restaurant serves
international cuisine. We sampled “Beth’s Famous Bloody Mary”, but it was
terrible! We noticed that others diners also sent their glasses back still
half-full. We did appreciate the garnish of cucumber/green squash, red pepper,
shrimp, and olive. Fortunately, our meal improved from that point; we shared
the tomato tart as a starter, followed by the chicken and biscuits (served with
a side salad) and lamb burger (served with a choice of a side salad or fries).
For dessert, we shared the dessert sampler, selecting pumpkin cheesecake, bread
pudding, and carrot cake as our three items (they were out of the pecan tart,
unfortunately).
We enjoyed our lunch at the
Riegelsville Inn, and we will definitely return, especially to enjoy more
outdoor dining.
