My spouse and I visited TJ’s
Restaurant and Drinkery for lunch on a Sunday afternoon in August 2019. TJ’s is
open daily for lunch, dinner, late night, and everything in between.
TJ’s is located in a small
strip mall just off East Lancaster Avenue near the Paoli train station. It
occupies an end position in the strip mall, and is quite spacious inside. Guests
can sit in the bar room at tables (both high-top and regular height), leather-backed
booths or banquettes, or at the bar itself, all within view of their many TVs.
Alternatively, patrons can sit in one of the adjacent dining rooms for a
slightly more private experience. Tile floors, wood tables and chairs, hanging
shaded lamps, exposed brick, and framed vintage international prints complete
the décor.
TJ’s serves upscale American
pub cuisine. We shared the pork nachos (guajillo pineapple pulled pork, black
bean and corn salsa, guacamole, and sour cream, served with freshly made
tortilla chips), which were enormous and a higher quality than we expected.
Next, we shared the roast beef sandwich, toped with cheese, fried onions, and
horseradish, and served on a ciabatta bun, which the kitchen was nice enough to
split/plate in two since we were sharing. TJ’s serves lots of starters, salads,
soup, macaroni and cheese, sandwiches, burgers, tacos, and larger plates (fish
and chips, noodles, short rib, tuna). The restaurant has a full liquor license,
with 25+ craft beers on tap and others by the bottle.
We enjoyed our time at TJ’s
Restaurant and Drinkery.
