My spouse and I dined at 403
Broad for brunch on a Sunday afternoon in June 2019. 403 Broad is open
Wednesdays through Sundays for brunch/lunch and dinner (closed Mondays and
Tuesdays).
403 Broad is located in the
historic Emerson House, on Broad Street adjacent to the Hotel Fauchere. (In
fact, the hotel operates 403 Broad, as well as its own restaurants The
Delmonico Room and Bar Louis.) The restaurant occupies a multi-story house,
although dining is available only on the bottom floor/street level.
403 Broad operates as a
bakery in the morning, with table service at lunch/brunch and dinner. For
brunch, we shared the burrata (served with focaccia and drizzled with honey) as
an appetizer. For our main dishes, we ordered the potato “latkes” (potato
pancakes with pastrami, sunnyside-up eggs, and sourdough bread) and the “MEC”
(a bagel with mortadella, fried eg and onion, cheese). A full liquor license
with beer, wine, and cocktails is available; we also enjoyed two of their
refreshing non-alcoholic concoctions.
We enjoyed our al fresco
brunch on the front porch at 403 Broad.
