I visited Spice Road Table for dinner on a Friday
evening in early December 2018. The restaurant is open daily for lunch and
dinner from 11:30 am until 9:00 pm. You can reserve a table using the Disney
app or website.
Spice Road Table is located near the Morocco
Pavilion in the World Showcase; since 2014, it has occupied a choice position
on the lagoon that allows guests to see the IllumiNations show from both the
indoor and outdoor seats at the restaurant. Indoors, large windows offer a view
of the water from the tables and a few semi-circular booths accented with batik
fabric, tagines, and carved boxes. There’s also an indoor bar with bright-blue
walls and Moroccan-inspired lights, tiles, and decor. In appropriate weather, the
covered patio is a lovely place to dine beneath the shadows of metal lanterns.
Spice Road serves Mediterranean cuisine.
(Although it first opened as small plates/tapas-style restaurant, currently it
is more traditional in terms of starters and entrée.) I dined there as part of
a package that provided seating for the Christmas Candlelight Processional;
therefore, I received a 3-course meal and a non-alcoholic beverage for a
specified price (about $60, the same amount that the items would have cost me
individually). I started with the rice-stuffed grape leaves (served cold),
followed by the coriander-crusted rack of lamb (accompanied by a sort of
vegetable ratatouille). For dessert, I tried the saffron pistachio custard, with
non-alcoholic mint iced tea to drink (which was a bonus with its free refills).
I enjoyed my dinner at Spice Road Table; Mediterranean cuisine is a personal favorite of mine!
