Croatia: Pizzeria Domenica (August 2016)

My spouse and I dined at Pizzeria Domenica on a Saturday evening in late August 2016. Domenica is located on one of the quieter side streets of Old Town. It offers outdoor seating on the pedestrian-only streets near Svih Svetih (All Saints/Domino Church) and Dom Marina Drzica (the house of playright/writer Marin Drzic); because the “blocks” are narrow, the terrace space for Domenica wraps around three sides of the building (onto Ulicas za Rokom, Siroka, and Dordiceva). When necessary, the restaurant uses outdoor heaters to keep the atmosphere comfortable. The proprietors of Pizzeria Domenica also own Trattoria Bellezza.

We ordered one country pizza (bacon, salami, onion, oregano, cheese, tomato sauce), one margherita pizza, one round of drinks, and a bottle of water for 242 Kuna total ($35 USD). The pizzas were large, and we could have easily shared one; instead, we took half of each pizza home for a midnight snack (ask for a foil wrapper or a pizza box to carryout/takeaway). Domenica offers a full liquor license, including wine, beer, and cocktails.

The food at Pizzeria Domenica is plentiful and reasonable; give it a try!
